PART-TIME BLOGGING

So you might have a full-time job at a bank or a school or some company … and
you’re okay with it or maybe love it. I like it when people do stuff that makes them happy.
But, just in case, if you’re wondering you should have a side-hustle that you could
work on after your full-time job — that makes me even happier. Maybe you want to
write for others’ blogs and want to get paid for it.
Does it look like something you might be interested in?
I guess, most of you are pumped up right now.
Let’s dive deep and find out how you can do part-time blogging and make money off
of it.
Here are a handful of options to get started with your part-time blogging:

1. Check out the Blogging Job Boards
One of the best ways to get a part-time blogging job is going through popular
blogging job boards. Blogging job boards are different than regular freelancing sites.
Normally, companies and blogs publish their gigs on those boards with the job
details. I might mention a few, but you can always dig deeper and find more blogging
job boards out there. Here are some popular ones:Problogger Job Board

2. Follow the Freelancing Hashtags
It may sound ordinary — I hear you.
But you have to see it through. Hashtags are an important element of social media;
we use hashtags on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. As far as freelancing
jobs are concerned, you can narrow it down to Twitter only.
Phew!
Sounds easy, right?
Well, that’s not the real part. Following the freelancing hashtags means you need to
step up and find the freelancing clients and keep your bank account rolling. Some of
you would freak out right now and say, “Hey man, it’s easy for you to say because
you’ve been doing freelancing for so long.”
It’s true that I’ve been working as a freelancer for quite some time, which is why I’m
telling you this.
Follow the specific, freelancing related hashtags to find the clients and get the job
done.
For example, check out the hashtags such as #freelanceblogger, #freelanceVA, or
#freelancewebdesigner.
Also, you could stumble upon a gig through your niche-based hashtags. So watch out
for that too.
The idea is that you could make some extra cash by working two to three hours at
night … by doing what you like or enjoy doing as a side hustle. The best part is that you could use your blog to market your freelance service,
showcase your portfolios, and provide necessary information to prospective clients.
3. Guest Post (a lot)
There is no easy money out there. You have to put in the work to make things happen
for you. Guest posting is one of my favorite things to do to build connections with
other bloggers. I don’t do it for the money, but a lot of other people make a handsome
amount of money off guest posting.
If you’re a part-time blogger and wondering to make some extra money, you can
guest post on others’ blogs and get paid for that. However, there is a caveat in it.
Every blogger has a different guest posting policy, which means you should
communicate it first. You must ask the blogger before writing a guest post, for
instance, how many links you can put it in the content, how long the article must be,
or any other instructions to follow.
You’ll be better off if you make a spreadsheet and list down all the blog links with
some details such as niche, DA, PA, Alexa rank, and the number of links allowed.
Additionally, you can create a separate spreadsheet of prospects to reach out and
mention their blog names, URLs, and email addresses so that you could keep track.
4. Make a Niche Site
What’s a niche site? You may ask this. A niche site is a website that is built to help,
educate, and guide the visitors on a specific topic. The idea behind a niche site is that
it doesn’t work like ordinary multi-topic blogs. Instead, it revolves around a specific
idea, problem, or topic to provide a comprehensive guideline on the issue.
Could you make money off of a niche site? Yes, of course, there are millions of niche
sites out there, which make a lot of money.
All you need to do is find the following things:
The topic to make a niche site
Effective keywords with low-competition
Content writer for bulk articles
Essential plugins and tools

The whole point of part-time blogging is that you might not have much time to go
full-time as a blogger, but you still want to do something and make some money.
Building a niche site could make things happen for you because it doesn’t work like a
regular blog, which needs a continuous flow of content to grow.
5. Join an Affiliate Program
Part-time bloggers just have to be a little patient. I have had tough experiences back
in 2011 when my Google AdSense earning almost stopped because ads got disabled
on one of my blogs. I realized that I was relying on just one ad program, but for one
second, I also thought that my blogging career is over. I was certainly wrong because
I had never prepared myself for adversity back then.
Later on, I realized that something would come up and I’ll be back on the track. I
never gave up and kept on finding alternative options. I do remember signing up for
various ad networks such as Chitika, Yield Ads, Infolinks, and Smowtion. I don’t know
whether or not these ad networks still exist.
Anyway, things worked out,  and then in 2012, I decided to pursue freelance writing. It
took three years to make a living from freelancing, but it was worth it.
So that was the backstory.
In case, something happened to your current income stream or you want to start a
part-time blog, you should consider trying out affiliate marketing. The keys to winning
at affiliate marketing are the following:

Stick to your niche
Find the relevant products to promote
Add personal experience to your reviews
Don’t join various affiliate networks at once
Keep trying out different products
Joining an affiliate program doesn’t guarantee that you’d immediately start making
money. It takes time to earn a handsome commission from affiliate marketing. All
you need is to try building a better combination of the right products + useful content
+ effective promotion. By the way, I use the ShareASale affiliate network.
It’s just a matter of time when your efforts would start to yield great results.
Sometimes, it doesn’t happen quickly because of certain factors, which explains why
experimenting is essential in affiliate marketing.
Go and experiment because that’s how you’d figure it out.

Final Thoughts

I’ve briefly discussed five methods to earn part-time earning through blogging.
A lot of people write blogs because they enjoy writing them.
Maybe after stumbling upon this blog post, two of them would turn things around for
themselves.
The core purpose of this blog post is to enable you to make money off blogging. The
topic is challenging, which is why I was excited to write this blog post. It’s not easy to
make money off of your blog as a full-time blogger, let alone as a part-time blogger.
You should go and try out at least one thing from the list.
Because that’s how it happens. You’re trying to solve problem a, but end up solving
the problem b.

comfort zone.”
